I decided the night before @cortinasnowboardworldcup that I wanted to race again on the @fissnowboard circuit Jumping back into racing was intimidating, exciting, and emotional. I didn’t think there was ever going to be a “perfect” way to get back in the start gate so I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. My goal was to stay as present as possible and work with what was in front of me. It was a huge personal achievement for me to get back in the start gate. It’s not about the absence of stress/fear/uncertainty but the ability and ease in which you can refocus on your goal that makes the difference. I am so grateful for my team keeping me with it and @hannesmutschlechner for forcing me to open my eyes to the beauty of a macchiato 🙏🏻🙏🏻 🇨🇦🇨🇦☕️ I’m still dealing with ongoing neck symptoms so I decided to head home to focus on rest/refuel for the new year. I wish everyone luck on the last race of 2023 🤞🏻 @bothwellaccurate @teamcanada @canadasnowboardteam #recovery #snowboarding #fissnowboard #cortina

Life update ✨ The last 11 months since my injury, my goal has been to be ready for the 2023/24 @fissnowboard season. Unfortunately, I do not believe I am ready to compete at the highest level -just yet. When I’m in the start gate representing Canada, I want to be able to leave everything on the line and focus on my goal - a gold medal. Working through physical and emotional trauma is a slow build. Day by day - but closer than ever! While I am incredibly disappointed not to race in the first event of the season, @carezzadolomites - I have a great team behind me to help me reach my goals 🥇 In the meantime, I am excited to see all of @canadasnowboardteam throw down. Let’s go @teamcanada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 #canada #fissnowboardworldcup #carezza #recovery #worldcup #injury #snowboard #winter #dolomites #cortina

My BFF is 3 💜 One step closer to world domination… This confident, assertive, adventurous little girl is my biggest inspiration and I’m grateful for every moment 💜 #happybirthday #niece

Making flowers out of shit✨ This injury is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, but - I’ve experienced a LOT of high stress, anxiety/fear, and “unknown”. My life right now is accepting my new normal and moving forward. Finding joy in the struggle ✨ Here are some of my moments of success: painting! Vestibular rehab! Physio! Biking! Walks! Nutrition! Supplements! #concussion #concussionrecovery #concussionawareness @canadasnowboardteam @teamcanada

Home, happy, and on my way to recovery❣️🇨🇦 Thanks to everyone for all of the messages of support. It’s been a tough two weeks, one step closer ❤️‍🩹🧠 #bellletstalk

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that the sport I love the most can be dangerous. To do things no one has done before, you need to accept all risks - known and unknown. Last Thursday, I had the biggest crash of my career. I broke my helmet but not my spirit! I am so grateful to have the best team around me, keeping me calm through the very scary 6 day hospital stint in Italy. I am very lucky to be out now, (healing from a concussion) until I am able to fly home. I am heartbroken to announce that I will not be able to compete at @canadasnowboardteam home #TKO World Cup. BUT I know that my teammates will make me and my country proud 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Lastly, thanks to everyone who reached out to send their love. These messages are what keeps me going 🙏🏻🥰🙏🏻 Accepting that anything can happen is the beauty of progress ✨✨ Good luck to my snowboard family in the upcoming races, I will be cheering for you (softly) 🍀 Be back soon 💪🏻 #recovery #snowboarding #olympics #concussion #passion
